Before you can start to learn to drive there are a few requirements you need to do. Firstly you have to be 17 years of age and applied for a Provisional Driving Licence. Any car you learn to drive in must have L Plates fitted to the front and rear and must be insured for you to drive it.
There are 3 steps to learning to drive...
1. Have lessons with a qualified driving instructor
2. Apply for and pass your theory test and
3. Apply for and pass your practical driving test.
For your first few lessons we will start you off in quiet locations so that you can get used to the car and all the new knobs buttons and pedals. It will all seem a bit bewildering at first but you will soon have mastered the hand to eye co-ordination skills and got to grips with the car. As your confidence grows we will progress to driving in heavier traffic conditions.
At Drive Wright Sheffield we don't push you and let you progress at your own speed. Everybody's different and all take different lengths of time to master the art of driving. As well as getting you through your driving test we also aim to teach you safe driving for life.
Some people may feel a little self-conscious to have somebody watching their every move. It's not something we are normally accustomed to but we are here help, guide, encourage and support your learning. Our aim is to make sure you are confident and skilled to take and pass your driving test.
